Welcome to my shitajiki collection

Shitajiki (or pencil boards) are stationary items, usually a 7" x 10" piece of plastic with an image.  Their intended use is to be placed beneath a sheet of paper to provide a smooth writing surface.  Their relative durability, lower cost (as compared to say, cels), and huge diversity of artwork also makes them wonderful collectibles.  I first encountered shitajiki while searching for character merchandise for the series Hunter X Hunter.  By late summer 2003, I was seriously hooked ^^;

05.27.2008 04.07.2008 04.06.2008 01.27.2008	Twenty-three new boards added.  Favorites are a gintama doujin and byousoku 5 centimeters promo. Eight more shitajiki added. Four new boards, all picked up from a trip to Japan.  A few more to come but I didn't buy a lot of shitajiki; too picky nowadays. 26 new boards added to gallery, after a pretty long hiatus.  No overwhelming favorite, but I like most of the boards in this group a lot.
